Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD) Therapy

Therapy for pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. Rachael has undergone advanced mental health training from Postpartum Support International (PSI) to work with perinatal mental health. Symptoms can occur at any time during pregnancy and up to 12 months after childbirth.

Common Symptoms of PMADS

  • Feeling sad or depressed

  • Irritable or angry

  • Difficulty connecting or bonding with your baby

  • Anxiety or panic

  • Sleeping problems

  • Difficulty eating

  • Upsetting thoughts that you cannot shake

  • Feeling “out of control” or that you are “crazy”

  • Thoughts that you should have never been a mother

  • Worried that you might hurt yourself or your baby

  • Concentration difficulties

  • Difficulty with work/life balance

  • Low energy

  • Low motivation

  • Feeling disconnected from others

  • Feeling numb

  • Nightmares or flashbacks of birthing experience
